Del Valle ISD Data Center Expansion and Administration Addition
Del Valle ISD (DVISD) is at the heart of a growing community, holding the responsibility of providing a safe and supportive learning environment to all students, faculty, and staff. To continually meet the needs of the community, DVISD passed a bond in 2014 that included extensive renovations and additions throughout the district, giving Fuse the opportunity to work on their Data Center expansion project.

Highlight
A unique challenge of this project was migrating the technology from the existing equipment to the new servers in the new space. Due to the district’s year-round use of the data center, there was only a small window for the migration. The migration was planned closely with the DVISD Technology staff, facilities staff, the design team, and the general contractor to ensure that the migration was as smooth as possible.
Design & Construction Facts
This project included a 2,000-SF building addition to the existing administration building and a renovation of 1,500 SF of existing office space. A new 400-SF data center was incorporated into this project too. The District was able to phase the work in a manner that allowed the building to remain occupied while the offices were renovated and the new building space was being constructed.
